John Huguet - President, CEO and Director
Mr. Huguet has over 35 years of success within the resource development sector. Much of his career has focused on the development and execution of major international projects incorporating unique and innovative partnership formations, financing arrangements and equity structures. His broad business experience includes all forms of resource development, plus technology applications for the environment and manufacturing industries. He has hands on executive experience in Peru, Chile, Venezuela, Argentina, Thailand, Philippines, Singapore, Mexico, Canada and the United States.
Mr. Huguet is active in many industry and community organizations. He is President of the Canadian Peruvian Business Council and has been decorated by the Peruvian Government on two occasions. He is a former member of the Business Council on National Issues, the Construction Industry Development Council, a former Director of SMABC and CMA Councils, and former Division Chairman of the Children’s Miracle Telethon Network. Mr. Huguet is a Fellow of the Certified Management Accountants and is a graduate of the Executive Development Program, University of Western Ontario (1988).
Christopher R. Verrico - Chief Operating Officer, Director
Christopher R. Verrico has 25 years of mine development/operations experience within B.C., Alaska and the Canadian Territories managing and contracting open pit mining, bulk ore handling and northern infrastructure construction operations. In the past 10 years Mr. Verrico has been focussed on scoping resource development opportunities throughout the America’s with key participation in raising more than $100 million of venture capital for, and is a Director of, a number of Canadian junior public companies.
James McCrea - Vice President of Exploration
Mr. McCrea has more than 20 years experience in exploration and mining geology, and 15 years experience in mineral resource estimation. Jim’s experience was gained through working for junior mining/exploration companies and engineering companies SRK and Snowden. His geological expertise ranges from technical review and due diligence to resource estimation and feasibility studies. Jim has experience in a range of commodities, but primarily gold, silver and copper, in a variety of geographic settings around the world with particular focus on Central and S. America. Having performed ore body modeling and resource estimation for the successfully targeted take over company Cumberland Resources Ltd. by Agnico-Eagle Mines Ltd. and more recently Mr. McCrea has completed mineral resource estimations underpinning ongoing or future feasibility studies for companies such as Silver Standard Resources Inc. and Candente Resource Corp. to mention but a few.
Nick DeMare - Chief Financial Officer
Mr. DeMare, holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of British Columbia and is a member in good standing of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia. Since May, 1991, Mr. DeMare has been the President of Chase Management Ltd., a private company which provides a broad range of administrative, management and financial services to private and public companies engaged in mineral exploration and development, gold and silver production, oil and gas exploration and production and venture capital. Mr. DeMare currently serves as an officer and director of other public reporting companies.
Dusan Berka, P.ENG. - Director
Mr. Berka is a graduate engineer with a M.Sc. (Dipl.Ing.) degree from the Slovak Technical University, Bratislava, Slovakia (1968) and a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of B.C. since 1977. He has over 35 years international experience in Engineering, Marketing & Sales and Business Administration. He also has extensive experience in the management, marketing, promotion and administration of public companies as well as in the Corporate Communications, shareholders information, public relation and contract negotiations. During the past 26 years Mr. Berka has served as a Director and Officer of various public companies traded on the TSX and TSX Venture Exchanges and the NASDAQ System in USA.
John Bortnak, Director
Mr. Bortnak is Business Development Professional with over many years of experience in all facets of the natural resource sector in Canada, USA, and internationally. Experience includes numerous major mining projects in North and South America. His breadth of experience in project development includes project management, market strategy, proposal management, contract negotiations, and client relationships. Mr. Bortnak was with Commonwealth Construction for 24 years in various management roles including operations, and in 1990 promoted to Vice President of Business Development. In 2005 served as Vice President of Business Development of VECO Engineering, parent company of Commonwealth, until Jan of 2008. In 2008 served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development of Andean American Mining Co. Mr. Bortnak is an independent Director of. Aguila American Gold Limited. since October 28, 2008.
